A century of heritage.1922 — a year marked by exile, upheaval and historic events. For the Kourounlian family it was the beginning of a journey that would shape every generation to this day…

From 1915 to Piraeus
The journey began in 1915 amid the Armenian Genocide, continued through Constantinople, then Chios, and finally Piraeus and old Kokkinia. There, grandfather Miran devoted himself to his craft: making pastourma and soujouk with masterful skill and secrets that soon captured people’s taste buds.

With passion as his driving force and a reputation that was steadily growing, Miran Kourounlian managed to house his products at 45 Evripidou Street, in a tiny shop of just 3 square meters. Despite its size, the little store would see long queues of food lovers eager to taste the delicacies he crafted himself.
From generation to generation, the reputation of the business quickly spread—and with it, the business itself continued to grow.


In 1950, the creation of a model factory for the production of Miran products marked a milestone, expanding our distribution network to nearly every corner of Greece. A few years later, the workshop was taken over by Bedros Kourounlian, the son of grandfather Miran, who remained faithful to the founder’s tradition while also seizing the opportunities that the future had to offer.




In 1983, when Bedros took over
the reins of the business, he expanded the factory, giving
life to a modern production unit
spanning 1,300 m².
It was there that our
two signature products,
pastourma and soujouk, began to
be produced in greater quantities, marking a new era for the company.
At the same time, the distribution network grew to reach even the most remote corners of Greece, while the customer base at 45 Evripidou Street in Athens expanded significantly. With innovation at its core, Miran introduced a pioneering nationwide home delivery service, bringing the authentic flavors of our tradition directly to households across Greece.

In the 1990s, the “heirs” of grandfather Miran’s tradition and devotion—his namesake Miran and Krikor Kourounlian—took over the business. Through persistent and dedicated work, the grandsons succeeded in transforming Miran into the largest company of its kind at a pan-European level. At the same time, they preserved intact the production methods that had been in place since the creation of the very first workshop.




The company’s efforts now extend beyond the borders of Greece, aiming to make Miran products known in other European countries. At the same time, they explore both the potential for new products and the expansion of the now-historic store on Evripidou Street.

As a result, partnerships were established with local producers, leading to the creation of additional products such as beef sausages, pies, peinirli, pasta, kebabs, as well as a wide variety of cold cuts carrying the Miran seal. Moreover, our range was enriched with the rare camel pastourma — a delicacy with a lighter flavor that blends harmoniously with the traditional spices of pastirma.
But our innovations do not stop there. The creation of odorless pastirma (patented), buffalo meat pastirma (patented), and even red tuna pastirma have enriched our range. In addition, we have introduced pastirma slices in special airtight packaging, ensuring they retain all their freshness.

In a state-of-the-art Laboratory, Miran produces certified products in accordance with the strictest hygiene and food safety standards, implementing the EN ISO 22000:2018 Quality Management System.


We apply an advanced traceability system that tracks every product from farm to fork. This means we can identify the origin, processing history and distribution path of each item, ensuring transparency and absolute consumer confidence.
